Although designed as a traditional gravity-stacked masonry project and bid competitively, KEPCO+ also provided an alternate, design-assist bid which allowed for two-thirds of the building to be panelized. The alternate, which was 20% less than other competitive bids received, was accepted. In total, 27,000 SF of intricately carved and hand-tooled Alabama Limestone was installed on this historic re-creation of a temple destroyed over 150 years ago. Stones up to 12” thick were panelized onto stainless steel frames to ensure a lifespan of 100+ years.
